Two activist groups, Moms Across America and Thinking Moms Revolution, are not so sure that government officials at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will make the right decisions regarding Monsanto’s Roundup, a toxic pesticide product that has made its way across conventional commercial farms and onto our dinner plates.
The EPA has been conducting a standard registration review of Monsanto’s Roundup.
After ignoring the two groups’ request to have a meeting about the upcoming registration review of glyphosate, the EPA was besieged by about 10,000 phone calls from moms (literally, across America) within a three day period.
Yes, the EPA can recall Monsanto’s Roundup and prevent its main ingredient, glyphosate, from continuing to contribute to a number of illnesses. In an article on the topic, The Huffington Post reported the following:
“Moms Across America co-founder Zen Honeycutt recounted how when she learned of the link between glyphosate and autism, she had her middle child, who had been exhibiting autism symptoms, tested for glyphosate. His urine had 8.7 parts per billion of glyphosate – eight times more than is allowed in drinking water in the EU. She immediately eliminated all potential sources of glyphosate from his diet. After six weeks the glyphosate was out of his system. And so were the autism symptoms. He stopped hitting people, and his grades went back up, from D’s to A’s.
“After a year of eating organic, her eldest son’s walnut allergy went from a 19 to a 0.2. It’s no longer life-threatening.”
The journal Entropy published a new study by Anthony Samsel, a retired science consultant, and Dr. Stephanie Seneff, a research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Their study reveals that glyphosate enhances “the damaging effects of other food-borne chemical residues and toxins in the environment to disrupt normal body functions and induce disease.”
The authors also draw a correlation between the rise in autism and the steady increase of glyphosate as a systemic pesticide. Diets rich in organic vegetables and fruits, and devoid of genetically modified ingredients, are detoxifying and help stimulate organs that have been clogged by pesticides, parabens, and PCBs.
